Call for International Workshop on Human-machine Interactive Sensing, Monitoring, and Communications (HiSMC)

Aims &; Scope

Human-machine interactive sensing, monitoring, and communications have been recognized
as the major factors for the Internet of Things (IoT). For instance, the studies on ubiquitous
computing have consistently shown an association between the human-machine interaction
and smart homes. In order to better facilitate the people’s activities in both indoor and
outdoor environments, it is critical to provide the opportunities of human-machine interactive
sensing, monitoring, and communications at any time and in any place. Due to the rapid
development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and smart communication technologies, the
human-machine interaction studies based on a variety type of sensing, monitoring, and
communication data presented significant opportunities in IoT research.
The International Workshop on Human-machine Interactive Sensing, Monitoring, and
Communications (HiSMC) aims to discuss methods, opportunities, and challenges in linking
sensing, monitoring, and communication data with human-machine interaction outcomes by
applying state-of-art methods such as machine learning, statistical calculation, mathematical
modeling, and data analysis. The workshop plans to focus on the development of theories,
methods, and practices in this interdisciplinary research. All submissions enabling cross-
pollination of ideas on the AI, ubiquitous computing, machine learning, statistical modeling,
data processing, localization and navigation, wireless sensing and monitoring, and human-
machine interaction are welcome. The intention is to bring together researchers, industry
practitioners, and individuals working on the related areas to share their new ideas, latest
findings, and state-of-the-art results.
Potential topics include but are not limited to:
● [New architecture for human-machine interaction system design]
● [Parameters estimation algorithms for human-machine interaction]
● [Non-contact data sensing and communications for human-machine interaction]
● [Motion detection and recognition for human-machine interaction]
● [Human-machine interactive systems based on AI and smart communications]
● [Multi-sensor data fusion techniques in human-machine interaction systems]
● [Noise suppression for signal detection and identification]
● [Target localization and tracking based on human-machine interactive sensing]
● [Machine learning for big data processing]
